Vintage Shops in Pisa

One of the things I like best about Provence is the abundance of vintage shops. Naturally, I spent an afternoon searching the narrow streets of Pisa, Italy for similar vintage shops--and I found them!

On Via Palestro, just north of the River Arno, is a cluster of small shops with vintage clothing and household items.

Myo Vintage is like a fun walk-in dressing room of satin and silk dresses, leather bags and shoes, and hats! Lovely vintage chairs are clustered in the middle of the room and wafting along the high ceilings is wonderful music from the 20s, 30s, and 40s.

In the window is one of those classic art posters from the era, and then you walk inside to find the clothes and accessories of that time in Europe, "between the wars", as they say here in Western Europe. Or, as the store's sign describes its offerings: moda e accessori d'epoca.

Across the street is Geko, with similar items but of an era that is a bit younger, hipper, and more recent.  Lots of light cottons and linens, filmy scarves and shoulder bags. Just the place to find something slightly vintage for a hot day in central Italy.

Next door to Geko is a shop filled with brocante and household items called Artemisia!  Pottery, laces, ceramics mix with romantic photo frames and tea pots.

And around all three are cafes and other wonderful shops worth a day of browsing.
